Impact on the Ecosystem
A thriving life science industry requires key support from those who know the industry, regulations, startup pitfalls, funding landscape and more. Organizations who serve and target underrepresented populations in the life sciences have the potential to shape the Rhode Island life science industry and provide opportunities for all Rhode Islanders. RILSH is conscientious of duplication, and we ask applicants to conduct a landscape study before applying, to ensure that the applicant’s offering serve a unique and distinct need in the Rhode Island life science industry. Programs well-positioned for funding are those that focus on bridging key gaps, provide equitable access to services and programs, and focus on entities with commercialization/commercial potential.
Program Overview
The Innovation Bridge program is designed to support innovators in the life sciences by providing funding to bridge critical gaps in the technology development lifecycle. This opportunity aims to accelerate the development of cutting-edge solutions by addressing key challenges such as technology validation, regulatory navigation, market readiness, and scaling operations.
Through Innovation Bridge, selected innovators will receive financial support to advance their work toward commercialization, along with access to subject-matter experts, industry networks, and strategic resources. The program seeks to drive innovation, strengthen the life sciences ecosystem, and promote economic growth within Rhode Island.
Eligible applicants include researchers, startups, and early-stage companies developing novel solutions in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, and other life science fields. Funding is intended to support activities that enhance product readiness, de-risk development pathways, and attract additional investment while fostering high-impact innovation in Rhode Island.
